Satya 2 Movie Review

Ram Gopal Varma's Satya created a huge sensation in 1998 and introduced a new face of the underworld in Bollywood. After this film, he gave excellent films like Company and Sarkar. For the last few days, there was a lot of excitement about his Satya 2. But the film seems to be adding another failure to Ramu's name. He made an attempt but like all his previous attempts, he disappointed. The film does not connect with his previous film in any way and does not connect the audience to itself in any way. It would not be wrong to say that if Satya was a milestone in Bollywood, then this film is such that Bollywood would not want to remember it. After watching the film, it can only be said that he has lost his magical touch.

During the promotion of the film, Ramu repeatedly said that Satya 2 is different from his previous films made on the underworld, but now that the film is in front of us, we cannot understand what is different. In the name of the underworld, there is bloody Holi, indiscriminate firing and murders one after the other, apart from showing long heart-wrenching scenes of torture, no stone was left unturned. Why is it being called a sequel is also beyond understanding. The story does not seem to be very successful in keeping people engaged. The songs also unnecessarily slow down the pace of the film. This is the weak side of the film.

Satya 2

Story: Satya (Punit Singh Ratan) came to Mumbai to meet his special friend Nara (Amrityan). Satya wants to start his life afresh. Nara is struggling in film making. He has a lot of stories and ideas, but there is no one to invest money in them. Nara lives with a special friend, who has come with the dream of becoming an actress. Satya gets a job with the city's famous builder Lohati (Mahesh Thakur). Lohati has connections in Dubai, where the builder works at the behest of his bosses.

To capture the city's posh properties, Lohati takes the help of the city's famous gangster RK. But RK refuses to work for Lohati due to fear of the ACP. Also, he does not want to spoil his relations with other builders. This is where Satya enters, who makes a plan to eliminate every obstacle coming in Lohati's way. Another builder is murdered along with the ACP and Satya becomes RK and Lohati's special man.

The story has so much power in a young man, who dreams of ruling the underworld. He just moves forward to fulfill his dream and comes to Mumbai. But there are so many loopholes in the story that it does not connect anywhere, and at one point it seems to be cumbersome. Not a single star of the film does anything special. Punit Singh is good in some places but doesn't leave any impact in other places. Anaika Soti is also a useless beauty. Everyone else keeps coming and going.

Acting: Puneet Singh Ratna has been okay in the role of Satya. His dialogue delivery is excellent, but his look does not fit the character. He has been very good in many scenes after the interval. Mahesh Thakur has done a good job in the role of Lohati. Among the other actors, Anika and Amritayan impress.

Direction: Before the interval, Ramu wasted a lot of time in introducing the characters, while after the interval, a lot of bloodshed has been added.

Music: There is no song worth mentioning.

Why watch: If you are fond of films based on the underworld and are a fan of Ramu, then once again watch his old style, which you have seen before. If you go to the theatre in search of entertainment, you will find yourself cheated.

Talking about the earnings, the budget of the film is said to be around 15-20 crores. There is very little X factor in the film. Ramu looks a bit confused throughout the film, and the story never comes on track. Therefore, there is little hope of the film being very lucky in terms of earnings. It would not be wrong to say that Ramu had faced a lot of criticism by making the remake of Sholay. Now after 15 years, he has done something similar by making the sequel of Satya.
